How To Organize Your Work Day
Don't let all those tasks torment you and make you feel helpless or worn out. For this reason this week I have brought you a series of tips to help you develop your workday successfully.
Every day you must deal with work goals and objectives, being these of different priority or difficulty, for this reason you must take a first step and organize your work day.
Don't let all those tasks torment you and make you feel helpless or worn out. For this reason this week I have brought you a series of tips to help you develop your workday successfully.
Start the day taking care of you.
Even if it is a work day you should start it taking care of you, get up do an exercise routine and if you are not used to it then get some fresh air, take a shower and have breakfast. Remember that even though you are in virtual mode you should get ready and dress up as if you had to go to your office or workplace to give your body energy and not have the feeling that it is a day of rest.
Do not let your bad habits play a bad trick and affect your productivity, a healthy body and mind are the pillars for your professional performance.
Check your agenda.
I know that the idea of having an agenda may overwhelm you, having to write down what you have to do sometimes is not something that we all like, but in reality it is an activity that can save the day, write down each of the pending tasks and schedule meetings that are necessary, do not saturate yourself with activities and give yourself the relevant space for each objective.
Remember it is not only about writing but also about assigning a few minutes daily after the first step and take a look at it and don't forget to check each point made.
Prioritize your activities.
Many times you tend to work on many activities at the same time and this is not the most recommended, many times you can lower your performance by not concentrating on one task at a time, this may involve the completion of empty tasks or planning unnecessary meetings that consume more time than expected and negatively affect your schedule.
For this reason you must learn to select what is the most urgent and what will take you more time. A tip that may help you is to start with the most difficult, because after finishing it the following activities will be easier and will consume less time.
Eliminate distractions.
Before starting your workday eliminate distractions that may influence you throughout your activities, some of these may be:
- Household chores.
- Electronic devices.
- Inappropriate spaces to work.
- University/college tasks, etc.
- People.
- Video games.7.
- Entertainment.
Remember that everything has its space and time, for this reason it is important to take responsibility for the moment in which we find ourselves.
Give yourself a break.
While it is true that you must perform the assigned activities, it is important that within your agenda you consider a space to rest and recharge your energy. Working simultaneously on different tasks is exhausting and affects your performance throughout the day, which is why breaks are important.
Give yourself feedback.
While it is true that many of the tasks are individual, there are many more that allow teamwork. That is to say that you can support yourself or your colleagues in the development of some projects and thus save time and energy.
On the other hand, if there are no group tasks at that time, you can ask for help if necessary and invest the time you had without being able to advance by consulting with someone else.
Review the results of your day.
After finishing your workday analyze how productive it has been and review the fulfillment of goals and objectives. Evaluate how positive or negative it has been and start making decisions that can make your next day more efficient and effective.
Don't berate yourself for not meeting your schedule or failing in some of your projects, but on the contrary motivate yourself to make each next day the best.
And as I mentioned before, your daily success is linked to your personal state, so remember that you should not only work for a company, but you should work on yourself first.
