Product Update: Company Days Off and Streamlined Sidebar Navigation in 4Geeks Payroll
Managing payroll cycles alongside statutory holidays, seasonal closures, and company-wide non-working days can quickly lead to manual tracking headaches and calculation discrepancies. Today, we are excited to roll out two major enhancements to 4Geeks Payroll: a dedicated Company Days Off configuration in Settings and a completely reorganized sidebar featuring five intuitive tabbed modules.
These updates are designed to simplify your daily workspace navigation and automate time-off handling directly within your payroll operations.
What’s New
1. Centralized Company Days Off in Settings
You can now define, schedule, and manage official non-working days directly within your payroll configuration. Whether setting recurring national holidays, annual corporate shutdowns, or regional non-working days, your schedule now syncs directly with attendance records and payroll cycles, eliminating manual pro-rations and payroll adjustment errors.
2. Reorganized Sidebar with Five Tabbed Modules
To make navigating complex payroll workflows faster and more intuitive, we have restructured the sidebar into five focused, tabbed modules:
- Overview / Dashboard: Quick insights into payroll status, upcoming deadlines, and key summaries.
- Pay Runs: Create, process, and finalize regular or off-cycle payroll executions.
- Employees & People: Centralized repository for employee compensation profiles, tax setups, and contracts.
- Time & Attendance: Unified view of logged hours, approved leaves, and company days off.
- Settings & Reports: Company-wide payroll policies, calendar settings, integrations, and downloadable compliance exports.
Key Highlights
- Automated Calculation Accuracy: Built-in holiday schedules automatically reflect in salary calculations, overtime multipliers, and leave balances without manual intervention.
- Frictionless Navigation: The 5-module tabbed layout groups related operations together, cutting down search time and unnecessary clicks.
- Consistent Workspace Policies: Configure company days off once to apply them across your organization or tailor them by team location.
- Faster Payroll Runs: Move from employee data verification to final approval with cleaner, distraction-free workflow tabs.
Best Practices
- Set Up Your Annual Calendar Early: Add your company’s scheduled holidays and planned collective breaks at the beginning of each calendar or fiscal year to ensure upcoming pay runs automate smoothly without last-minute adjustments.
- Align Working Day Calendars with Local Regulations: If your company operates across multiple jurisdictions or recognizes both mandatory public holidays and custom company downtime, verify each configured day off matches local payroll compliance standards.
How to Get Started
- Log in to your 4Geeks account and open the Payroll module.
