United Airlines announced a new daily nonstop flight route from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to San José, Costa Rica, beginning May 22, 2025.  

This new service, a result of over five years of work by SFO's Aviation Marketing and Development team, will be operated year-round using Boeing 737 aircraft.  

SFO's director expressed excitement about the route and thanked United Airlines for their commitment.

The announcement was made on October 11, 2024, and is featured on an aviation news website.
